The following information is important for all those who want to be Junior Bourne End Week Champion

NOTICE OF RACE
JUNIOR BOURNE END WEEK CHAMPIONSHIPS Thursday 1st to SATURDAY 3rd June 2017
 
 

 Organising Authority The organising authority is The Upper Thames Sailing Club

 

Rules The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. ‘The Sailing Instructions will amend the ‘Zone’ to two boat lengths for all races for all classes’.  As a condition of entry, all entrants agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of the ISAF, the prescriptions of the RYA, the rules of Upper Thames Sailing Club, the rules of appropriate Class Associations and the Sailing Instructions. They undertake to sail in compliance with the RYA Racing Charter.

 

RYA Racing Charter Competitors should note that UTSC implement the RYA Racing Charter and that they will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020) or at http://www.rya.org.uk/RACING/Pages/racingcharter.aspx 

 

Eligibility and Entry The racing part of the regatta is open to all children participating in Junior Bourne End Week sailing in boats of the following classes: RS Feva and Topper. 

 

Race Starting Times 

Thursday 1stJune 

The starting sequence will be displayed at Race Control.

The first race start will not be before 11.00.  

 

Friday 2nd June and Saturday 3rd June

The starting sequence will be displayed at Race Control.

The first race start will not be before 10.00

 

Sailing Instructions Sailing Instructions will be available on the UTSC website and at registration.

 

Scoring The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.  For all classes a minimum of one race will be completed for a series to be valid. At least 4 races are planned.  If 3 or more races are sailed there will be one discard.  

 

Trophies The overall trophy will be awarded to the winning boat based on best score across both classes.  In the case of a tie it will be broken in favour of the class with the highest number of aggregate race finishers.  Further prizes may be awarded.  Trophies are to be held for one year or until Junior Bourne End Week 2018, whichever is the earlier.
