UTSC is renowned for excellent hospitality. Our caterer is able to provide everything from delicious four course meals for a formal dinner to casual bar snacks on Sunday lunchtimes.
The licensed bar provides a full range of well-priced drinks with the locally produced Rebellion draught beer a popular choice for members. A superb range of wines by the bottle are also available with prices well below neighbouring bars and restaurants.
The catering and bar facilities are open on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings throughout the sailing season, as well as on the first Friday of each month when we have a happy hour in the bar. Teas, coffee and snacks are also available on Saturday afternoons for the 'fun sailing' sessions. Reservations for social events, suppers or special lunches should be made directly by email or via sign-up sheets in the clubhouse depending on the event. Notice of cancellations needs to be made at least 48hrs in advance please.
The annual programme includes the Fitting Out supper and Laying Up dinner at the start and end of the sailing season. There are special dinners for the weekend Open Meetings, and the social highlight is Bourne End Week, with all day catering, and events most evenings including the annual cocktail party in the marquee on the lawn.
Members can hire the club for private events such as celebration dinners, or as a training or meeting venue, on days when the club is not in use for sailing events. We have had wedding receptions with a marquee here, and our caterer will be pleased to quote for any catering requirements. The club provides a staffed bar when required.
